Change You Perspective: Pastor Jeff Notes
Change Your PERSPECTIVE, Change Your LIFE
1. PERSPECTIVE — How I See Myself
My perspective is how I see.
God changed my position; I have to change my perspective.
I must start looking at everything differently.
Change your perspective and walk in what you have already received.
When our position in Christ changes, our perspective should change also to match. See yourself as the righteousness of God—as redeemed, healed, chosen, and a child of God.
See yourself as righteous, favored, greater, and more than a conqueror.
Scriptures
Ephesians 1:18 TPT — “I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling—that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones!”
Romans 4:19 — “And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.”
Romans 6:11 AMPC — “Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus.”
What are we considering? We are always considering something. Choose to see yourself according to what God says about you.
2. POSITION — Who Are You in Christ?
Changing our perspective means seeing ourselves differently.
Who are you in Christ?
When did your position change?
Jesus came from Heaven, and through Christ, we have been raised and seated with Him in the heavenly realm.
Our position in Christ is not something we earn; it is something God has already accomplished through our union with Christ.
Our victory depends on our dependence on Christ, not ourselves.
Being seated with Christ represents a position of authority.
Recognize your weakness and allow Christ to live through you.
Scriptures
John 3:13 TPT — “No one has risen into the heavenly realm except the Son of Man who also exists in heaven.”
Ephesians 2:1–6 NLT
Verses 1–3: We were dead in our disobedience and sins, following the ways of the world and the desires of our sinful nature.
Verses 4–5: God, rich in mercy and love, made us alive with Christ.
Verse 6: “For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:6 TPT — “He raised us up with Christ the exalted One, and we ascended with him into the glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm, for we are now co-seated as one with Christ!”
Ephesians 2:6 AMPC — “And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”
Ephesians 1:22–23 — Our position in Christ places all things under His feet.
God has already accomplished this through our union with Christ. We must learn who we are in Him and live from that position.
3. ZOE — The God-Kind of Life
Zoe is the God-kind of life imparted to believers through Christ.
It is the nature and divine life of God placed inside a person's spirit at the new birth.
Jesus came so we could have and enjoy abundant life.
The life of God is within us.
Keep the Word and Scriptures in your imagination, mind, and soul. God's Word produces life and is medicine for our flesh.
Scriptures
John 10:10 AMPC — “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”
John 5:26 — “For as the Father has life (ZOE) in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself.”
John 5:26 TPT — “For as the Father is the source of life, so he has given the Son the power to impart life.”
Romans 8:5–6 TPT — “For the sense and reason of the flesh is death, but the mind-set controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace.”
John 15:5 NKJV '“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. '
The life of God is within you. Your perspective must line up with the life you have received through Christ.
4. IMAGINE / CONSIDER — What Are We Looking At?
What are we looking at, considering, and imagining?
My thoughts become my imagination, and my imagination becomes what I manifest. What I focus on gets my faith.
Am I focusing on worry or the Word?
God's Word is a mirror that shows me who I am in Christ.
This is how I must see myself.
Scriptures
Romans 5:1 TPT — “Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us.”
Hebrews 10:14 — “For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.”
Colossians 2:9–10 — “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.”
John 15 — Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches.
Galatians 3:13–14
1 Peter 2:24
Psalm 141:4 — “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.”
What you continually consider and focus on influences how you see yourself and how you live. Keep God's Word before your eyes and in your imagination.
5. IN CHRIST — Now in the Kingdom
We are in Christ and now in the Kingdom.
We have been raised to a new life through Christ.
We must set our minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Our old life has passed away; the new has come. We are new creations in Christ.
Spiritual Dominion: Believers are transformed into new creations with authority to rule over spiritual defeat, sickness, and the forces of hell through righteousness in Christ.
Mind Renewal: Walking in Zoe life requires aligning our thoughts and habits with God's Word rather than old ways of living.
Scriptures
Colossians 3:1–3 AMPC
Verse 1: “IF THEN you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.”
Verse 2: “And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.”
Verse 3: “For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 AMPC — “Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!”
Romans 6:5–11
Verse 5: I am permanently grafted into Him.
Verse 6: The power of sin has been broken through our death to sin, and we have the resurrection power of Christ's life in our spirits.
Verse 11 TPT: Reckon yourself dead to sin in the same manner as Christ is dead to sin.
Romans 12:2 — Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
We must know who we already are in Christ and renew our minds so that His resurrection life is manifested in our daily lives.
6. TRADITIONS OF MEN — Don't Let the World's Thinking Shape You
Colossians 2:6–8 warns us against being taken captive by human philosophy, empty deceit, and traditions of men.
Culture says certain things are normal, but we must evaluate our thinking according to God's Word.
Do not automatically accept the world's perspective as your own.
Sickness, disease, weakness, frailty, dementia, and arthritis are often described as normal or hereditary. Consider whether your perspective is being shaped by culture and tradition rather than God's Word.
Your imagination is like your superpower. Use it for good, not evil.
Scriptures
Colossians 2:6–8 NKJV
Verse 6: “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,”
Verse 7: “rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”
Verse 8: “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.”
Colossians 2:8 AMPC — “See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following human tradition (men's ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world), just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah).”
Colossians 2:8 TPT — “Beware that no one distracts you or intimidates you in their attempt to lead you away from Christ’s fullness by pretending to be full of wisdom when they’re filled with endless arguments of human logic. For they operate with humanistic and clouded judgments based on the mindset of this world system, and not the anointed truths of the Anointed One.”
Colossians 3:1–3 — Think on the things above.
Philippians 4:8 — Think on these things.
2 Corinthians 10:4–6 NKJV — “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing
