How it all started...
In 1985, a pastor, Reggie Moffett, established Living Word Worship Center in a rented church building at 400 Broadway St in Minden with only 11 members.
In 1987, the late Pastor Bill Bush was voted in as pastor, so he and his wife, Margo, took over the ministry. As they introduced the Word-of-Faith style ministry to Minden, they also emphasized the power of Children’s Ministry and dynamic praise and worship. As a result, the congregation grew, and so did the vision.

Expanding the vision...
In 1996, Living Word Worship Center was relocated on a new piece of purchased property and in a newly constructed building, where we currently meet today. Pastor Bill Bush’s vision of a ministry that would be a city on a hill and a light to the world, continued to grow.
In 1998, Pastor Bill went on to pursue a call to be a professor at Rhema Bible Training Center and passed the pastoral role on to Pastor David Divelbiss & his wife, Paige. The Divelbiss family pastored until they were called onto the mission field of Zimbabwe, Africa in late 2011. In their 13 years here, they impacted our community like never before through innovative Bible teaching and community outreaches including; crusades, theater productions, and street evangelism, taking Pastor Bill Bush’s vision to another level.
In 2011, as the pastoral role was transferred to Pastor Andy Maddox and his wife Jemmie. Together they established our first international missions teams that traveled to Nicaragua and Honduras. As they continued to increase the ministry, both spiritually and financially, God had Pastor Andy specifically strengthen fellowship and community within the church. Through this, Bush Stadium was developed and constructed in honor of Pastor Bill Bush who passed in 2009. They also developed leaders by becoming a campus for the In Christ International Bible College for 4 years and changed our name to Living Word Minden.
In 2017, Pastor Andy felt a call to expand our ministry to another campus in Haynesville, La. - where they currently serve as Lead Pastors - and transferred the pastoral role at our Minden campus to Pastor Trey Waller and his wife Kelli. Pastor Trey has faithfully served Living Word for years and has been full time staff since 2007 serving as Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor and now Lead Pastor.

Where we are headed...
At LWM we are excited about being a part of God’s story and what He’s doing in us and through us! We are alive for such a time as this! Our love for our local community and surrounding areas has increased and we continue to show it through unique outreaches, community involvement, and partnership with other Christ-centered ministries. We know the harvest of souls is great, but the laborers are few.
The vision that God has given Pastor Trey and Kelli here at Living Word Minden is to inspire and equip everyone to became a laborer in God’s harvest field. Our desire is to help people find and follow Christ and that deep-rooted, Gospel-centered, life change takes place in the hearts of people in everything that we do.

Be a part of our story...
At LWM we are honored to do life and ministry alongside you and your family! We believe that every Christ-following believer has a part to play in God’s ministry on the Earth and that no one is truly fulfilled without doing what God has called them to do. We want to do our part to help you fulfill all God has called you to do.
We all have different gifts, talents, abilities, and even different pasts, but we are all called to share the passion of being like Jesus and impacting others in the same way He did.
Jesus told His disciples through a parable in Luke 19 to “occupy until I come”. That very command is still in affect today. Jesus wants us working together as one body, occupying, being busy about Kingdom business, increasing His Kingdom until He returns.
Join us with your story and together, let’s be a part of God’s story.
